somethingabouther 's Thoughts:

I create my outfits starting from a need (theme) or mood. This one was based on my mood. Don’t know if you see it, but the gloves are the main point of this outfit. I really felt like wearing them, so I developed my whole story around this element.

How does it work? So I’m in the mood for my Agent Provocateur leather gloves. How do they look like? They’re black & red leather, with big zippers on. Ok, I’m really not a fan of the black and red combination (although I ADORE it on these gloves), so I’ll have to tone it down a notch. How do I do that? I add white. White/gray/nude/(really) light blue are “tamers”, they take away the heaviness of the other elements. My favourite tamer is white though, you’ll see me using it most often.

The info I need to work with is “red and black”, “zippers”, “biker style”. A pair of ripped jeans suits the biker idea, the light blue colour counts as a tamer in most of the outfits, so it works its magic on these black & red gloves too. We’re good so far. Ok, add a white top – I chose this one because of its texture, it has a thin stripes pattern that gives me a sporty vibe, so it works perfectly with my biker theme. The bag and the shoes have zippers, so no imagination needed here, they’re exactly the same style as the gloves. In order to have a full story, I added the black and white necklace, which really ties them all together.
