Today is the last day of 2009, so I thought this week’s wrap up of street fashion should focus on the eclectic and very original taste-makers that photographers snap. While many are contemplating their resolutions for the new year, I thought in the style of Diane Vreeland we should make some rather ridiculous resolutions on how to live wildly glamorous and original.
For those who don’t know: Diane Vreeland was a noted fashion figure, socialite, and columnist who wrote an infamous column for Harper’s Bazaar. In the column she always suggested wildly outlandish ideas, like turning a fur coat into a bathrode, or washing your child’s hair in champagne. Some were more feasible like “why don’t you tie black tulle bows on your wrists?” All promised to make every day a bit of an adventure.
So, instead of resolutions to lose weight/save money/etc; why don’t you commit to living wildly?

Why don’t you wear all your necklaces at once?
Tokyo, Japan via Drop Snap
Why don’t you wear plaid trousers with a furry tail?
Stockholm, Sweden via Vanessa Jackman
Why don’t you wear sleeves as big as your head?
Boston, USA via Beyond Boston Chic
Why don’t you dress children in cowboy boots with chains?
*I hope you enjoyed the suggestions and remember the points is to be outrageous, controversial, or basically to raise eyebrows.
